Plan for New Year goes for a toss

Today, I am feeling very sad and frustrated because of some stupid decisions made by some people. Me and some of my friends had planned for a night out to celebrate new year. We had planned to go to a night trek at Skandairi. We did the same trek last year also and had enjoyed every moment of that. So, I personally wanted to relive the same moments and welcome 2009 from the top of the hill and had planned accordingly. I was very excited about that.
But, today morning all the planning went down the drain. There was a report in today's TOI that roads to Nandi Hills and Skandagiri and few of the other places will be closed after 6 PM, till 6 AM on Jan 1st. The reason: Some people who go there to welcome new year are disturbing the locals.
I don't know how. Last time when we went there, I didn't see anything like that happening. Maybe, some of the tourists got drunk and may have misbehaved with someone there. But, that doesn't mean that they should restrict the entry to the place for everyone. It's just not fair.
Just for the mistakes of few people, why should they punish everyone?
And moreover, in the article in TOI, the last line said that there won't be any such restrictions in Cubbon park and Lalbagh. What the hell...These places are more prone to "accidents" and "misbehavior" compared to some desolate place outside Bangalore.
So now, we have to be satisfied with Ghajini at Lido Fame at 8:30 PM and then spending some time on Brigade road.
I just hope these people get some brains in this New year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

Bought a new Guitar

Yesterday, I bought a new guitar from Reynolds Inc. in Brigade road. The brand is "Pluto" and had to shell out 3.3K. But, I don't mind...:-) In fact, we bought 3 pieces!!!And hence got the carry bags for all 3 of them for free...
BTW first we went to a shop called "Rhythms" or something like that which is situated on the road leading to Garuda mall. There, the cost of the same model was 4K and the cost of another Indian made brand,"Givson" was 3.3K. So, if anyone is planning to buy a guitar, I suggest you don't buy it in that shop and go to Reynolds Inc. instead.
Anyways, I have taken the first step in becoming a rock star!!!

Pessimistic vs Realistic

I was just thinking today...What is the difference between being pessimistic and being realistic.Very often, people say, "This guy is very pessimistic". But, I believe, many a times they are wrong. Let me explain a major difference between these two terms.
Being pessimistic means not knowing oneself.By this, I mean not believing in ones' own capabilities and hence trying to shy away from ones' duties.
Now, being realistic is exactly opposite to this. Being realistic means, according to dictionary, is being practical. That means knowing ones' own strengths and being well aware of his limitations.
Though sometimes a realistic person may sound pessimistic, remember, he is just being practical!!!

Here I go

Hmmm...I dont know why I am deciding to blog now. I have tried to do it before. But my utter laziness to follow up didnt allow me to continue. But this time it is different I guess. I have a lot to blog about as a lot of things are happening in my life at a rate that is faster than even the speed of light. And I need a place to write stuff down. And as I am a Software Engg., I am very lazy to write stuff using a pen a paper :-).
So here I go. In my blog, I am planning to write the random thoughts that come into my mind sometimes when I am lazing around. Also as I travel a lot on my bike( currently 2003 model of Fiero F2) I will be sharing some of my experiences in my travel blog.
This is the end of my first blog.
Ciao

PS:BTW, I am going on a bike trip tomorrow to Yelagiri in TN which is a small hill station and supposed to be free of tourists. Will post my experience after my return in my travel blog...
